Catalysts 2026
Leaders of Russia and CIS countries:

Conference and exhibition on refining catalysts and petrochemicals
Krasnodar, April 9-10
Crowne Plaza Krasnodar Centre
About Conference
Every year, more and more companies in the oil and gas industry report switching to Russian catalysts. Today, the Russian catalyst market is formed not only from domestic products and services, but also from a significant number of offers from foreign companies, which supports healthy competition in the field of price offers, stimulates the development of quality, a catalog of catalysts, and the creation of new synthesis methods. The Russian market of catalysts and services is capital-intensive and promising due to both current and planned needs, which is complemented by an agreement on modernization. Despite significant advances in the field of complete replacement of the production of catalysts for oil refining, processes such as hydrotreating, hydrocracking and reforming remain without the necessary volumes of components for production. The petrochemical industry is dependent on imported catalysts by an average of 70%. Eastern companies continue to be in demand suppliers, as they retain the reputation of high-tech companies, but the tasks of competent interaction in the field of technological regulations, money transfer and transportation of components remain relevant.

Catalysts 2025
The Catalysts 2025 Conference, held on May 29-30 in Krasnaya Polyana, once again confirmed its status as a key annual platform for leaders and experts in the field of catalytic technologies, oil refining, petrochemistry and related industries. This is not just an industry event, but a professional community that forms the direction of the development of catalysis in Russia and the CIS countries.Every year the conference expands the agenda and attracts new participants. In 2025, special emphasis was placed on practical cases, scientific developments and current challenges, including localization of production, service for catalysts and the transition to high-tech solutions, interaction with Chinese partners.
The forum was held with the support of Gazprombank (General Sponsor), United Catalyst Technologies, DRAGTSVETMET and TAIF-NK. The organizer is Energy Leader company.
The main focuses of the conference
Operational catalytic systems: experience and practice
The issues of substitution of foreign catalysts and localization of developments became the focus of attention. Anton Galminas (DRAGTSVETMET) presented the successful experience of introducing Russian dewaxing catalysts using the example of an installation at the Omsk Refinery. Timofey Karpenko (NPP Neftekhim) spoke about approaches to technological sovereignty in the development and production of domestic catalysts for the petrochemical industry. Alexander Akimov (UCT) outlined the prospects for local production.
Tools to increase the profitability of production
Special attention was paid to the issues of the catalyst support infrastructure. Igor Nazarov (Roscontrakt) and Anastasia Shutova (Rheocat) highlighted the topics of restoration and regeneration, development of service competencies and integration with production processes.
Integrated catalysis as the basis of production efficiency
UCT introduced the practice of using digital twins and the development of local solutions.
The possibilities of optimizing international technologies for Russian conditions were also discussed.
Global trends
Tamara Kandelaki (Infotech CONSULTING) outlined long-term changes in the structure of demand:
  • Growing demand: high-quality chemicals, materials, products for medicine, nutrition, ecology
  • Declining demand: traditional large-tonnage petroleum products and chemicals
  • Geo-economic perspective:
  • Africa — growing demand and active investments from China
  • China — slower growth, excess capacity
  • India — rapid growth, plans for refineries and NHCs
  • Middle East — development of processing and investments abroad
Science as a pillar of the catalyst industry
Significant emphasis was placed on scientific developments. Konstantin Dementyev (INHS RAS) presented catalysts for SAF. Roman Yakovenko (YURGPU/NPI) — catalysts for the isodeparaffination of diesel fuels and oils. Representatives of SIBUR-Innovations spoke about the Competence Center for Catalysis and Work with Ionic Liquid Media.
Dialogue at a height – in the literal and figurative sense of the word
The first day's discussion club was held on the restaurant's outdoor terrace overlooking the Caucasus Mountains and became a platform for summarizing the interim results of the meeting. In an informal but meaningful atmosphere, the participants discussed the current challenges of the industry, identified growth points and exchanged views on the presented cases and technologies. At the end of the discussion, a raffle was held for the professional publication "Process technologies and catalysts for the production of hydrocarbons of extensive structure", prepared by the Center for Professional Assessment with the support of GC "Titan".
The evening continued with a gala cocktail, a warm end to the first day, where business communication was organically combined with a vacation in the mountains. On the panoramic terrace, the participants continued the discussion in a more informal setting, shared their impressions, made new professional acquaintances and strengthened partnerships. The atmosphere was complemented by a live performance by the musicians - a light, unobtrusive accompaniment that made the evening especially memorable and allowed the participants to truly enjoy the finale of an eventful day.Under the slogan "no catalyst, no process," the conference confirmed that the industry has accumulated a lot of experience, which should form the basis for partnerships, developments, localization of solutions, and interaction between science and business.

Topchiev Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis of the Russian Academy of Sciences). Alexander Zaitsev, Deputy Head of the Catalyst Production and Regeneration Department of the Rosneft Oil Refining and Petrochemistry Department, presented the innovative catalysts developed by the company for oil refining processes. Catalytic systems from a leading Iranian manufacturer (Union Chemical Solutions) were also presented to the conference participants.

Technologies and services in the field of catalyst management and optimization of operating costs were presented, including technological services for catalysts and synthesis gas production and processing processes, independent evaluation of catalysts, modeling of new and upgraded processes (ONX-Holding), effective Russian solutions for the replacement of adsorbents and catalysts in plants of foreign production (Gracis), protection catalysts and adsorbents using efficient filtration and separation (VNIIOS-nauka) and development equipment, testing and improving the properties of catalysts (Labtest).
